• Know yourself
As clichéd as this phrase might sound, knowing yourself is an imperative. The first step towards mastering an interview is to understand your strengths and weaknesses, areas of interest, career objectives etc. Being clear about these aspects will definitely help you tackle questions with confidence.
• Know the employer
The second step is to thoroughly research the employer. If you do not have a clue about who the employer is or what they do, you shouldn’t be applying in the first place. Understanding the business and future goals of the organization helps you position yourself in terms of benefits you can offer.
• Resume re-run
Carefully go through your resume to ensure you do not offer inconsistent statements during the interview.
• Tailor cover letter to the employer requirements
While your resume summarizes your qualifications, the cover letter offers an opportunity to communicate how those qualifications can help meet the employer’s needs. Again, highlight your skills through the benefits that you can offer.

• Reach the venue well in advance.
• Show confidence.
• Last but definitely not the least – Be Honest.

• If you get a chance, once again express your keenness to join the organization as the interview closes.
